Refuge / Safe Accommodation

PDAP operates four refuges across Huddersfield, varying in size and facilities.

Each refuge offers a combination of communal spaces and private bedrooms. We have the resources and experience to support women and children with additional needs and disabilities, with support assessed on an individual basis.

One of our refuges is a specialist service for single women from minoritised communities.

At present, PDAP refuges are unable to accommodate male victims of domestic abuse. However, we can provide advice and support to men who need help to access emergency accommodation.

Everyone who moves into our refuge accommodation is allocated a specialist domestic abuse support worker, who will support them throughout their stay.

Refuge accommodation can be funded in a number of ways. Many women are able to claim Housing Benefit to help cover the cost. Our friendly staff will discuss your options with you when you first contact us and support you to explore what financial help may be available.

If you are not safe in Kirklees, PDAP can help you to find a refuge in another area of the UK.
