Children and Young Peoples
Our Children and Young People’s Service provides dedicated support to children and young people living in our emergency accommodation.
We also have a specialist Children’s IDVA (ChIDVA) working with children and young people in the community who are exposed to high-risk domestic abuse.
We work to improve confidence, reduce isolation and build self-esteem. We support young people to develop coping strategies and provide space for them to explore their feelings, thoughts and hopes for the future.
Support can be offered through one-to-one or group sessions and may include work around:
- Understanding domestic abuse
- Abuse within intimate and family relationships
- Healthy relationships
- Parenting and rebuilding relationships
- Early intervention
- Age-appropriate safety planning
- Revenge porn, sexting and online safety
- Grooming and child sexual exploitation
- Honour-based violence
- Consent and sexual health
- Coercion and control
