PDAP believes everyone has the right to live their life free from abuse. We offer safe, effective and high quality support to all victims of domestic abuse regardless of their gender, ethnicity, age, disabilities, background, or circumstances. We will work hard to provide support at the client’s own pace, walking alongside victims, survivors and their children, empowering them to access the support they need to be safe and recover from the impact of abuse.

What we Do

We offer support to anyone over the age of 16, who has experienced or is experiencing domestic abuse. This includes victims of coercive control, ‘honour’-based violence, forced marriage, and female genital mutilation.

We offer a range of bespoke packages of support to help you to live safely and to move on from abuse. The packages of support are tailored around you and the support needs you have identified.

All of our services are free and confidential.

We are Inclusive

Our diverse team provides support to all victims of domestic abuse regardless of gender, age, disabilities, sexuality or ethnicity. We know that the different needs and perspectives of people from minoritized backgrounds may require different approaches to provide effective support. We place victim voice at the centre of our work, and will work with all our clients to shape and develop our services.

We are responsive

We will respond quickly to all requests for support and are pro-active in our approach. We will work hard to engage all victims of domestic abuse, offering a flexible service that meets their differing needs. We work with all our clients at their own pace whilst ensuring we are able to respond quickly and effectively to their risks and needs.

We are non-judgemental

We empower our clients to identify their own needs and encourage them to explore their options and decide what actions they want to take. No matter what stage they are at in their journey or how many times they have been referred we will always offer support.  We are committed to working in a trauma informed way, with an understanding of the long term impact trauma has.

Keeping victims at the centre of their support is crucial so that they feel in control of the process, maximising their resilience and optimising the outcome of long-term safety.

We work in partnership

We know we can’t do this alone. We will work in partnership with voluntary and statutory agencies to work towards a society in which domestic abuse is no longer tolerated and to improve the response to all victims of abuse.

We provide high quality services

All our team are highly trained and have the skills, experience and knowledge to offer effective quality support. They understand how complex each situation can be and provide support for both short term crisis intervention and longer term recovery. We monitor our services to ensure they are accessible to all and to evidence the impact of the support we provide. We are a learning organisation and work in a reflective way to identify gaps and continuously improve.
