About us
Pdap is a registered charity that provides high quality specialist support, advice, information and safe accommodation to anyone affected by or experiencing domestic abuse.
We have been delivering a range of specialist domestic abuse services as Pennine Domestic Violence Group PDVG in Kirklees since 2002 when two long standing domestic abuse services merged. Huddersfield Womens Aid which had been in operation since 1975 and Kirklees Asian and Black Womens Welfare Association which had also been operating services in Huddersfield for over 10 years.
In 2020 we rebranded to become Pennine Domestic Abuse Partnership in recognition that domestic abuse goes beyond violence and in acknowledgement that the quality and effectiveness of our services are a result of the strong working partnerships we have within Kirklees.
Pdap believes that everyone has the right to live free from all forms of abuse and have the right to be free from potential or actual harm.
Central to our work is the premise that everyone has equal right to support at the point of need regardless of background or circumstances. We support all victims of domestic abuse across our services regardless of gender, sexuality, disability, age or race and are working to improve access to our services from all sections of the community in Kirklees, especially for those groups that face additional barriers to accessing support.
